Selling Your Work
Beyond publishing for free, you can sell your plugins on headsta.sh. Sellers are called authors. You keep full control of your products, see every sale, and get paid automatically through Stripe.
Being an author is a step up from write access: write access lets you publish; author status lets you charge for what you publish and receive payouts.
Applying to become an author
- Go to Sell plugins in your account.
- Fill in the short application: your country (payouts currently support the US, UK, EEA, Canada, and Switzerland), your website/portfolio, a support email where customers can reach you, and anything else you’d like us to know.
- Submit Apply to become an author. You’ll get a confirmation, and we’ll email you once your application is reviewed.
Approval is a human review — there’s no instant switch. When you’re approved you’ll get a notification (“Author access granted — you can now sell your plugins”).
Your author dashboard
Once approved, the Sell plugins page becomes your hub, with:
- Open your author dashboard — manage your products, orders, customers, licenses, analytics, and payouts, all scoped to your own work.
- Edit your banner — the custom banner shown at the top of your public profile
(
/u/<your-name>), which also displays a gallery of your plugins.
You create and edit products the same way as any published shader — the difference is you can price them and attach licenses.
Getting paid (Stripe)
Payouts run through Stripe Connect:
- From Payouts in your dashboard, start Stripe onboarding — this creates your connected Stripe account and walks you through their verification.
- Once complete, sales flow to you automatically, and you can open your Stripe dashboard any time to see balances and payouts.
A few notes:
- Onboarding is available for the supported countries listed above. Your country is locked once your Stripe account exists, so pick the right one.
- The platform commission rate is set by the site (not editable by authors) and shown in your dashboard.
Building your reputation
Sales and community response build your presence: your public profile, plugin galleries, karma, and comments & likes all help buyers trust your work.
